Millie’s Bat Mitzvah
Michelle got back in touch with us in September about her daughter’s Bat Mitzvah – and how she just wanted some nice Jewish music for her daughter’s upcoming ceremony in December. I’ve actually never done a Bat Mitzvah before, so it was really exciting, and I felt so honoured to be part of Millie’s special day.
From what I understand (and researched) – a Bat Mitzvah is a religious initiation ceremony for a Jewish girl aged twelve years and one day, regarded as the age of religious maturity. It was all about Millie turning into a women, with the Girls & Boys dancing separately.
After finding out with Michelle what she wanted – we discussed a few options, but in general she just wanted some nice Jewish background music (as much as possible) and few special songs for the kids to dance to after the ceremony.
I headed out and started setting up and arrived to the smells of the most amazing food I have ever smelt! The Brisbane Synagogue is HUGE! Looks amazing from the outside, and waiting for everyone to arrive was Millie greeting all her family & friends at the door for her special occasion.
I setup upstairs and got ready – with everyone arriving and started playing some songs that I had researched and purchased. The place looked amazing, with colorful tables laid out for everyone to grab a seat and enjoy some great food & drinks, along with a few special speeches as well.
It wasn’t long until there was some dancing with family & friends out on the dance floor – Millie certainly had a great time!
